The play Romeo and Juliet is about two lovers, who are both members of rival families, the Montagues and the Capulets. This conflict ultimately leads to the demise of the two lovers, which ultimately serves to pacify the relationship between their families.

It was written by William Shakespeare, and first premiered in 1597.
It is one of the most famous and well known plays, and pieces of english literature ever.
The play is based upon "The Tragical History of Romeus and Juliet" by Authur Brooke, which was written in 1562.
